Call of Duty Zombies is a popular video game franchise that has been around since 2003. It’s available on many platforms and has sold over 200 million copies worldwide. The game was first introduced as an Easter egg in Call of Duty: World at War. It became so popular that it was made into its own game with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops in 2010.
Call of Duty Zombies has become one of the most iconic games in history. That’s because it allows players to fight against zombies in various locations around the world. You can play in places like World War II, France and Vietnam as well as modern-day locations like New York City and Los Angeles. These are the most iconic Call of Duty Zombies maps, our opinion :).

Call of Duty Nacht der Untoten

Nacht der Untoten (Night of the Undead) is the first map in Call of Duty zombies series. In Call of Duty: World at War Nacht der Untoten was released on November 11, 2008 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and November 12 for PC. The map takes place during a zombie outbreak in Germany during World War II.
The map features three new zombies: an undead soldier wielding a machine gun; an undead medic with an MP40 submachine gun; and a zombie dog that will attack players when they are near it. Players can also use shovels as melee weapons against zombies or other players (in Multiplayer).

Verruckt

Verruckt is a map that features in numerous Call of Duty games, including Black Ops 4. It’s one of the most iconic maps from the Zombies series and has been popular since its release back in 2008. The map takes place in an asylum where you fight off zombies with your team as you try to escape.
Verruckt features several different areas that you can explore as well as several Easter eggs for players who want to find them

Shi No Numa

Shi No Numa is a Zombies map in Call of Duty: World at War. It was released on December 11th, 2008. The map is set on an island located in Japan and features four new weapons: the Wunderwaffe DG-2, Type 100, STG-44 and FG42. The map also features two new perks: Juggernog and Speed Cola.
The main feature of this map is its swamp area which has many different types of zombies. There can even appear Tank Zombies and Hellhounds (dogs). This makes Shi No Numa one of the most popular maps for solo players. This is because it gives them more opportunities for kills than other maps do. However it can also be played by groups or clans with lots of fun!

Der Riese

Der Riese is the fourth map in Call of Duty: World at War and it’s one of the most popular maps in the game. It was released on November 11, 2009 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. But PC players had to wait until January 26th 2010 before they could play it. This was due to technical issues with the PC version of Der Riese. They were fixed after several patches were released by Treyarch.
Der Riese takes place in Germany during World War II and follows four soldiers who are trying to stop Dr. Richtofen from starting his experiment on humans by destroying Group 935’s research facility where he plans on doing so.

Kino Der Toten

Kino Der Toten is the first Zombies map in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It was released on November 9, 2010 and features a World War II setting with a Russian theme. The main Easter egg in this map involves an alternative ending to World at War’s “One”. Nikolai Belinski survives his fall into the abyss by landing on top of a pile of zombie corpses and then proceeding to kill them all before making his way back up through the ruins of Stalingrad.
Kino Der Toten has been remastered for Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode. And it is available for free on PlayStation 4 until June 30th 2019!

Ascension

Ascension is the second map in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It was released on May 16, 2013 as part of a free update for Xbox 360 and PC players, while PlayStation 3 owners had to wait until June 12th.
The map takes place on an abandoned Soviet space station that has been overrun by zombies and other creatures from an unknown source. The player starts off with only a pistol, but can find weapons throughout the map such as assault rifles and SMGs (submachine guns). There are also traps that can be used against enemies such as landmines or tripwires connected to explosives.

Call of the Dead

Call of the Dead is one of the most iconic maps in Call of Duty Zombies. It was released on June 28, 2011, as part of the First Strike map pack. This is one of only two maps that feature zombies from multiple eras (the other being Moon). The player characters are Edward Richtofen and four other characters from World War II who were cryogenically frozen by Group 935 scientists and later awaken aboard an abandoned Soviet Cosmodrome site in Antarctica.
The map features a large open area with many buildings and platforms for players to explore and seek refuge in during waves. There are also several underground tunnels that lead to different areas around this large outdoor area. These tunnels can be accessed through manholes scattered throughout the map or via teleporters located near generator rooms. This is where power must be restored before opening them up again after each wave has ended. This way new ones can spawn there instead of just outside them like usual.

Mob of the Dead

Mob of the Dead is one of the most iconic Call of Duty Zombies maps for a reason. The map takes place in Alcatraz prison during its time as a federal penitentiary. You’ll be playing as four characters: Billy Handsome (a former bank robber), Salvatore DeLuca (an old school mafia boss), Albert Arlington (a former inmate) and Michael “Finn” O’Leary (an Irish hitman). The main feature of Mob of the Dead is its unique setting; there aren’t many games that take place in prisons! It also has some interesting gameplay elements that set it apart from other maps such as custom weapons and perks.

In conclusion

There have been so many Call of Duty maps over the years, but not all of them have been good. Since the launch of the Call of Duty franchise, these creative maps have been a crucial element to its success. I might be biased, but the maps: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, Der Riese, Kino Der Toten, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Mob of the Dead are in my opinion the best and most iconic Zombies maps in Call of Duty.
